Fixico to be new chair when commissioners reconvene

In their last session for the month of December, the Jackson County Commissioners met on Thursday, Dec. 31, at the Jackson County Courthouse. The Dec. 28 minutes were approved and there were 4 reports and several blanket purchase orders from the Health Department, the Sheriff's Office and all 3 districts. They were all approved by the commissioners.

Under officers' reports, County Clerk, Christi Hair, mentioned an upcoming personnel policy seminar for county supervisors. The seminars will be held several times, with the nearest ones being held in Lawton, on Jan. 20, and in Clinton, on Jan. 21.

Jennifer Wilson, Secretary for the County Election Board, met with the commissioners to recommend Royal Printing Company for the Optech Ballot cards for the Election Board. The bid was the only one received and it was the same price as last year.The commissioners approved Royal as the provider for ballots.

The appropriations for Dec. were approved.

There was no new business, no public or no vendor participation items, and all claims were approved.

The chairmanship of the commissioners will change on their next meeting, Jan. 4. Anthony Fixico will be he new chairman. A vice chair has not been appointed at this time.
