Driver fails to yield, hits man on motorcycle

An accident Monday in Greer County resulted in a Lone Wolf man being taken admitted to the hospital with head, arm and leg injuries.

According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Frank Murphy, 70, of Mangum, was driving a 2008 Toyota Yari when he failed to yield while turning left from an intersection at US 283 and SH 44. Murphy struck Kerry Saso, 54, of Lone Wolf, who was driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Murphy was not injured, but Saso was transported by Greer County EMS to Jackson County Memorial Hospital where he was admitted in stable condition. He was later transported to Comanche County Memorial Hospital iin Lawton.

There were no passengers involved in the accident.

Seatbelts were equipped and in use in the Murphy vehicle, and Saso was wearing a helmet.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Tyler Shelby of the Greer County detachment of Troop M, and was assisted by the Greer County Sheriff’s Department, Greer County EMS and the Blair Fire Department.
