The Main Street Altus annual meeting was combined Thursday with a Launch Party for the January/February 2010 issue of Oklahoma Today Magazine. The Southern Prairie Library was decorated with a chuck wagon atmosphere with shop decor displayed all around the sides.

Representatives from both the Oklahoma Today and the Oklahoma Main Street Center, in Oklahoma City came to share the potato bar luncheon and fellowship with members of Main Street Altus.

Altus is one of five communities featured in the latest issue of this popular magazine, joining Enid, Newkirk, Durant and Okmulgee. The issue is headlined as "The Complete Guide to Oklahoma's 42 Main Street Communities" in preparation for the Main Street Conference. Held in Oklahoma City, this conference runs May 2 to 5.

The Main Street program is celebrating 25 years as an Oklahoma tradition. The next Main Street Altus events are Bargain Blizzard Day on Saturday Feb. 6, and Walkin' on Chalk "Art Festival" on Saturday, March 27.
