An Altus man was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital earlier this morning after receiving a gunshot wound to the face.

Tyrone Myrick, 29, arrived at the emergency room at Jackson County Memorial Hospital at 1 a.m. today with a gunshot wound to the face, but details about the incident are still being investigated.

According to Mike Turner of the Altus Police Department, there could have been as many as three people involved in the incident, but only one person has been arrested at this time.

Jerae DeShon Ray, 19, of Manitou, was arrested today on charges of tampering with evidence.

“Ray was found to have altered the crime scene,” Turner said. The crime happened in the 800 block of E. Walnut.

The circumstances around the incident were said to be unclear at this time and is still under investigation.
