Gary Julian Gallardo, 33, was arrested on multiple counts after a wild, high speed car chase through Altus Saturday.

According to reports, Altus Police received a tip that Gallardo was going to be transporting a large amount of drugs through town Saturday. When officers tried to stop Gallardo, he led them on a high speed chase down North Park Avenue, Sycamore, Falcon Road and Park Lane, then back through the streets north of Altus High School, back onto Park Lane and then to East Broadway.

Police then used a tactical vehicle intervention in which police cars drove alongside of Gallardo, pushing his car with theirs, causing the Gallardo vehicle to spin.

Police then boxed Gallardo’s vehicle in with theirs and were able to arrest him.

According to reports, a large amount of methamphetamines were found in the Gallardo vehicle.

Gallardo’s charges include assault and battery with a deadly weapon or resisting the execution of any legal process; eluding an officer in such a manner as to endanger any other person; possessing Schedule I or II which is a narcotic drug or LSD; maliciously injuring or destroying personal property valued at more than $2,500 or more. The damage to property happened when Gallardo ran over a stop sign and ran through a fence.

Other charges are failing to appear at Rule VIII hearing on harboring criminals; and probation violation on harboring criminals.
