The annual Main Street Altus-sponsored “Walkin on Chalk” event is set for March 27 this year in downtown Altus. Each year artists of all ages bring their chalk and talents to the Arts Festival. The chalk drawing contest has divisions for students 1st grade through college, as well as for adults. There is also a coloring/drawing contest for the 1st and 2nd graders. High school students can also participate in the banner contest. This year’s theme is “Make a Splash.” Cash prizes will be awarded. The banners will be displayed on the light poles around the downtown area. For complete rules, costs and other information, contact the Main Street Altus office at 482-2277.
