Jimmy Ray Payne, 62, of Altus, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at his home. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Altus City Cemetery with Derek Kirby, Pastor of Southwest Cowboy Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Jimmy Payne was born June 30, 1947, to J.B. and Doris (Farmer) Payne in Altus. He married Peggy Surles Dec. 19, 1969 in Elmer. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a meat cutter for the commissary at Altus Air Force Base for several years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Peggy of the home; two sons, Keith Payne and fiancée Tisha McGhee of Oklahoma City, and Mark Payne and his wife Shanna of Altus; two brothers, Bobby Payne and wife Kristen of Indiahoma, and Donny Payne and wife Shannon of Chattanooga; and two sisters, Cathy Parks and husband Bill of Duncan, and Annette Martin and husband Blaine of Frederick.
