An order of dismissal was signed and filed on March 29 for charges against Kendra Rendon. Rendon, a child care provider on Altus Air Force Base, had been accused of child abuse from a supposed injury which occurred on October 28, 2009.

The child, then four months old, was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City for treatment. The child has since recovered.

Rendon's attorney, Stephen Jones, said medical findings have determined the child's condition was not caused by Rendon. The order to dismiss states that "in the best interest of justice" charges are dismissed. Jones said that our community is fortunate to have a District Attorney and Judge like Stephen Booker and John Wampler. He said they have researched and stayed on top of the case, being very fair. He wants them to receive due credit for their efforts on behalf of the people.
