The Altus High Lady Bulldogs squeeked out a victory in the Altus Invitational Track Meet on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs scored 169 points just six points ahead of Lawton High School.

Altus held a slim two point lead going into the 1600 meter relay an event they would need to win to win the meet.

Altus’ Jazznae Harris ran the last leg of the relay and passed a Lawton High runner with 30 yards to go. The Lady Bulldogs won the event and the meet. Harris, Daphrene Jackson, Lesli Kelly and Itaya Knight won the relay with a time of 4:16.96.

Altus got a first place finish from Kirstyn Copeland in the 3200 run. She had a time of 12:33.48

Janell Durrough won a gold medal in the 300 low hurdles with a time of 50.28.

Kendra Gibson took first in the long jump with a leap of 16-5.

The Altus High Boys were third with 74 points. Lawton took the team title with 111 points while Lawton Eisenhower was third with 93 points.

Gerard Harris was first in the 200 run with a time of 21.81.

Clarence West won the 800 run with a time of 2:04.26.

Dyquan Woodhouse, Maurice Chandler, Wayland Ward and Harris took first in the 400 meter relay with a time of 43.25.

The 1600 meter relay team of Chandler, Harris, West and David Powell was first with a time of 3:29.21
