The commissioners' meeting was held Monday, April 19. The minutes of the April 12 meeting were approved. There were no blanket purchase orders or reports to approve.

During the officers' reports, County Assessor Gerald Sherrill Jr. asked about the roof repair to the Jackson County Courthouse. Commissioner Cary Carrell said he had the information on the roof from Mansfield, the company that insures the roof. He will locate that information for the commissioners. Commissioner Dale Dunn said some of the employees will be attending the ERGON school at the fairgrounds for chip seal procedures.

The commissioners approved the contract between SAC and Fox Nation and the Board of Commissioners for detention for juveniles.

Four items were approved for disposal as surplus by the County Treasurer's office.

The commissioners approved the Health Department providing child health services to the SW Oklahoma Community Action Group (SOCAG) Head Start.

The commissioners approved several items regarding the Jackson County Health Department and the Board of Commissioners. These were: transportation for clients living in outlying towns by SOCAG to the Health Department; Jackson County Memorial Hospital providing x-ray services to the Health Department; Frances Lopez providing "directly observed therapy" for tuberculosis patients; Glyna Olson providing an independent evaluation as required for the Tobacco prevention program; contracts between the Health Department and various services (Pitney Bowes - $393 annually, George Bros. Termite & Pest Control - $60 monthly, Lee Office Equipment - $4620. annually, Verizon Wireless - $200 monthly); designating receiving officers for the Health Department as Mary Toliver and Priscilla Guerrero; designating requisitioning officers as Donna Boone, Lisa Bennett and Danette Rivas.

The commissioners applied for the additional homesteaders exemption allowed for certain taxpayers for 2009.

This will be sent to the state just in case the county may receive a rare payment. This money has not been received from the state in several years.

The maximum monthly highway expenditures for April were approved by Resolution 2010-15 for the amount of $407,203.97.

In new business, County Treasurer Janet Wright said there is a suit for quiet title by SOCAG vs. Faith Marie Richards.

There were no public or vendor participation items. The claims were all approved and the meeting was adjourned.
