Elgin came to town and walked away with an easy 8-1 victory.
The Bulldogs had trouble both offensively, and defensively.
If you’re looking for a bright spot, in came in Zack Neely. Neely provided the Bulldogs with its only run, a solo homer in the fifth inning.
Neely pitched the final five innings and did not yield an earned run.
The strong southerly winds caused the Bulldogs problems as two infield flies fell to the ground.
Altus collected only three hits. Besides Neely’s home run, Austin Beisel and Sinjin Cramer had singles.
Bulldog notes: For the first time in 12 games an Altus pitcher did not pick off a runner. However Altus catcher Brandon Ybarra picked off a runner at first base. It was the 27th runner the Bulldogs have picked off this year.
Altus is 11-14 on the season. They will travel to Lawton Eisenhower for a 5 p.m. game on Monday.
