Western sweeps 2 from Redlands

The Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers continued their winning ways with a doubleheader sweep of Redlands Community College.

Western defeated the Cougars 5-2 in the first game and took the nightcap 9-2.

Coach Kurt Russell’s Pioneers, ranked second in the country are 37-4 on the season and 11-1 in conference play.

They will host Northern of Enid in a 1 p.m. twinbill on Thursday. Western will travel to Enid for a 1 p.m. twinbill on Sunday.

Western will close out its regular season next week. The Pioneers travel to Fort Worth, Texas for a 1 p.m. doublehader with Wharton College of Wharton Texas. They will journey to Poteau for a four game series with Carl Albert beginning Saturday.
