Hospital Board approves attorney to pursue litigation against Dr. Gallagher

The Board of Trustees, JCMH Authority, met in regular session Monday where the minutes of the March 22 meeting were approved as presented.

Michelle Ford reported that the outreach clinics had a good month with a total of 203 admissions and 63 outpatient surgeries contributed to JCMH for the month of March.

Bill Wilson reported on physician recruitment. Dr. Kristen Savath, Pediatrician, accepted a position with JCMH and will join the Pediatric Clinic in July. Recruitment efforts are focused on Emergency Medicine and General Surgery.

Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded depreciation were approved in the amount of $73,917.30.

Richard Pope presented the First Quarter Safety Report to include fire drills conducted, fire system inspection, new employee orientation and work related injuries.

The board approved the purchase of property located at 1204 Maple Street.

The board entered into Executive Session to discuss potential and pending litigation.

The board approved to have Randy Calvert, Attorney, pursue litigation against Dr. Ryan Gallagher to collect amounts owed to the hospital under his contract.

Bill Wilson, President, reported from the Executive Medical Staff meeting that was held on April 12. The following were proposed to the Board for approval:

1. Initial Appointment:

a. Juliana Bizzell, DO – Emergency Medicine, Courtesy Staff

Requests were approved as presented.

Nancy Davidson presented the financials for March resulting in a net income of $252,424 and year to date net income of $401,645. Mrs. Davidson discussed the results of the mid year cost report as prepared by BKD.

The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m.
