The Navajo Indians won one and lost one in the regional tournament at Sentinel on Thursday afternoon.

Coach Weston Winters crew easily defeated Hooker 12-0 in the first game but lost a 2-0 heartbreaker to Sentinel in the winner’s bracket finals.

Jacob Parsons was the hard luck losing pitcher for the Indians. Parsons threw well allowing only three hits.

Navajo got the potential tying run on in the seventh inning but didn’t get them in.

Navajo now must win three games in a row to win the regional title and make the state tournament.

The Indians began their loser’s bracket journey this afternoon when Navajo played Turpin in an elimination game.

A win there will send them to the finals against Sentinel which is scheduled for 6 p.m. If Navajo wins that game, it would force the “if” game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
