District Attorney John Wampler has announced that a suspect in the recent armed robberies of pharmacies in Frederick and Granite has been identified and is being sought by law enforcement.

Wampler said that Andrew Michael Burc, 36, of Blair, was charged late Thursday with Robbery with a Weapon in Greer County District Court and that identical charges were expected to be filed today in Tillman County District Court.

Burc is the suspect in the April 25 armed robbery of the McFall-Lewis Pharmacy in Frederick, as well as the armed robbery of the Granite Drug Store on May 4.

In both robberies, Burc is believed to have taken Lortab prescription pain medication and indicated to both victims that he had just gotten back from Iraq and that “he was sorry but he was hooked on the pills.” In both robberies, Burc allegedly used a black handgun to threaten the victims.

It s believed that Burc is still in the immediate area and is being sought by law enforcement. He is described as a white male, about 6’2”, 210 pounds, with very short blond hair and hazel eyes. He was last known to be driving a gray 2004 Dodge pickup with license tag #781ARQ. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts should contact their local law enforcement agency immediately.

Wampler said that the investigation of these robberies was a combined effort of several law enforcement agencies including the District Three DA Drug Task Force; Frederick PD; Granite PD; the Tillman, Greer and Jackson County Sheriff’s offices; Blair PD; the Criminal Investigation Division at Ft. Sill; and law enforcement agencies at Altus Air Force Base.

“These agencies are to be commended for their coordinated efforts to solve these crimes,” said Wampler.
