Jonathan Goforth, 26, of Altus, died Sunday at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City after a car accident on North Shore Road 2 miles south of SH 9 in Kiowa County.

According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Goforth was attempting to make a U-turn when another vehicle, driven by Wesley Moore, 35, of Hobart, struck the driver’s side of his vehicle. Goforth was pinned for about 30 minutes before being extricated by Hobart Fire and Rescue.

Goforth’s wife, Amanda, was taken by Sinor EMS to Elkview Hospital in Hobart where she was treated and released.

Seatbelts were equipped and in use by the passenger, but not by the drivers of the two vehicles.

Moore was not injured.
