Construction claim, storm debris site among items on Tuesday’s council agenda

The regular meeting of the Altus City Council is set for Tuesday, May 18 immediately following the Municipal Authority meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m., in Council chambers.

Agenda items include approval of purchases, payroll, monthly reports and minutes.

The council will vote to acknowledge a briefing on the temporary “Storm Debris” management site and vote on recommended solutions for a mandatory “close out” plan.

Other items include renewal of the lease between the City and SWYS for the rental of the Rotary Center, a resolution for a fire prevention and safety grant from FEMA, accepting the final plat of the Laurel Homes 9th, 11th and 12 Addition, changing the zoning classification of property from auto-urban residential to auto-urban commercial, and a Habitat for Humanity item, as well as any new business, if any, which could not have been reasonably foreseen prior to posting of the agenda.

The Municipal Authority will include an update and information concerning the Southwest Technology Center Foundation’s annual golf tournament presented by Bill Weldon, SWTC Superintendent, a claim by Timberlake Construction in the amount of $584,267.42 for construction of the Altus City Hall and Safety Facility to be paid from the Sales Tax Revenue Note, series 2009.
