The Truck show will begin at 9 a.m. and will run until 5 or 6 p.m. when the truckers get ready for the twilight Light Show Parade. Trucks are coming from all over, with many states represented.
A company from Clinton will display race car trailers. The National Guard will bring display equipment. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) will also be represented. Recruiters for various military branches will be present. General Tommy Franks will be bringing his traveling museum. The Ride of Pride, from Snyder, Ark. will be bringing their POW / MIA truck. Karate demonstrations will be presented. The Altus Animal Aid will have animals for adoption. Two Native American Indian Princesses will meet and greet veterans.
A wide selection of food and drinks will be available, including BBQ. A moon walk and slide will help provide entertainment for the "young'uns."
A raffle will be held for two dozen prizes. Tickets are a $5 donation to the DAV and will be sold from 7 a.m. to noon. The drawings will begin at 2:30 p.m. Prizes range from a 6000-watt generator, to a strand of real pearls from Crown Jewelry.
The Light Show Parade will begin at twilight and run from the intersection of Park Lane and Falcon, south on Park Lane to Broadway, west to Main Street and north to Falcon back to the Community Center. The Light Parade offers truckers an opportunity to show their truck's "personality."
