ELK CITY - It's not easy playing a team three times in one season, specially when you have already beaten them the first two times.

But, it didn't matter to the Altus High Bulldogs who played a pesky group of Elk City Elks on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs walked away with a 75-64 victory.

An eight spree late in the first quarter vaulted the Bulldogs to a 19-10 lead. It was sparked by three players off the bench. Chris Delao and Jake Warren had three-point buckets and Jarrod Fields also hit a field to give the Bulldogs a nine point lead going into the second quarter.

Altus never trailed after that and the closed the Elks would come would be a five point deficit.

The Bulldogs held their biggest lead when Creadell Pennon hit a shot to make 64-48 going into the fourth quarter.

Elk City did score the first nine points of the fourth period to make it 64-57.

The Bulldogs turned back that threat by outpointing Elk City 11-7 the rest of the way.

Ten Bulldogs made the scoring column. They were led by Preston Runyan's 15 points. Jordan Boone had 14 points, Creadell Pennon 12 points and Stuie Smith finished with 11 points to round out the double figure scorers.

Bulldog notes: Altus is now 8-2 on the season. The Bulldog played without Trent Harvick, who is nursing a hip injury. Altus will host Riverside on Thursday night at Altus Junior High School. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. The contest was originally scheduled for last month but was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be played in the junior high gym because a wrestling match had already been scheduled for Cletus B. Street Fieldhouse.
