Altus police are still looking for information about a hit and run accident that happened early Sunday morning.

The driver of a red pickup left the scene of the accident that sent an Altus man to the hospital in critical condition.

Altus Police Chief Mike Patterson said that they have trace evidence that they think can be linked to the vehicle if it can be found, thereby finding the person who hit pedestrian Able Guarez and then left the scene in the 1200 block of W. Broadway at 2 a.m. Sunday. Guarez was later air-evaced to Oklahoma City in critical condition.

Patterson said that anyone with information about the accident that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the person that fled the scene could earn a reward. They can also remain anonymous and still collect the reward. To report information to Crime Stoppers, call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 482-TIPS (482-8477).
