The Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers hung tough, but fell to the Northeastern Oklahoma Norseman 82-71 here on Thursday night.

The visitors led 41-34 at halftime. They scored seven of the first nine points in the second half and held an 18 point margin with 7:30 left in the game.

Western was paced by Akeem Bennett, who had 16 points. Tadre Sheppard had 12 points and Kendall Cutler 10 points.

Western is now 17-10 on the season. NEO is 22-5 on the year.
