The 2008 Jackson County Junior Livestock Show started Friday, and will end tonight with the bidders barbecue.

This is the 64th year for this youth agriculture related educational program sponsored by your Altus Chamber of Commerce. The overall purpose of the show is to highlight agriculture and provide a forum for the youth of our county to look at agriculture as a career choice. These students spend many hours raising their animals, keeping records and then showing them.

The Premium Auction will be held tonight at the Jackson County Expo Center. United Supermarkets will again prepare all the food which starts at 4 p.m. All chamber members are encouraged to attend.
