The Winter Annual Ag Conference still has plenty of room for participants tomorrow, Feb. 29, at the Southwest Technology Center. It will start at 9:30 a.m. with registration and will conclude by 2 p.m. There will be a free sponsored meal served.

This year’s topics include several items of interest for this production year. They are as follows:

• Wheat Crop Outlook 2008 and Late Wheat Management Decisions

• Mid-Season Wheat Fertilization Utilizing the N-Sensor Unit

• Commodity Markets (both Grains and Livestock)

• The New Immigration Law

• Update on the New Pending Farm Bill. They will have most of their state experts on the listed topics with them tomorrow, in person.

They are Dr. Jeff Edwards, OSU Small Grains Specialist, Dr Kim Anderson, OSU Grain Marketing Specialist, Dr. Derrel Peel, OSU Livestock Marketing Specialist (both marketing specialists will be here in person), Dr. Larry Sanders, OSU Farm Policy Specialist, Attorney Shannon Ferrel, OSU Agriculture Law Specialist, Stacie Riley, Jackson County District Conservationist, Dr. Mark Gregory, SW District Agronomy Specialist, and Gary Strickland, Jackson County OSU Extension Educator.

Again, this should be an informative and timely conference. So don’t forget to come out for this meeting.
