JCMH on the recruiting trail

It was reported at Monday night’s meeting of the Jackson County Memorial Hospital’s Authority Board of Trustees that JCMH teams have been busy visiting more than 130 nursing students in colleges and universities recruiting Registered Nurses. The goal is to hire 30 RNs. Eighteen have already signed on.

The hospital also continues to actively recruit for Family Practice Physicians and an Obstetrician-Gynecologist specializing in neurology and gynecology.

In other business, the hospital board awarded a bid for lawn care services to Southwest Lawn Care for a three year period, with renewal required annually.

Pharmacy Director Reta Tims and 3-West Nurse Manager Shelly Simmons gave a report about the new Bedside Medication Verification System which will focus on prioritizing patient safety.

Nancy Davidson reported JCMH’s net income for January totaled $789,305, and year-to-date income is a $2,127,385.

President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Wilson reported that Rosalyn Hall had resigned as a member of the JCMH Authority Board of Trustees following her recent election to the Altus Board of Education.
