Former Oklahoma Attorney General Larry Derryberry will be signing copies of his new children’s book, “The Oklahoma Scranimal,” at the Hastings store in Altus on Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to noon. The public is invited to attend.

“The Oklahoma Scranimal” tells the story of what happens when a tornado picks up Papa Derryberry’s barn, shakes it up, and puts it down.

Author Larry Derryberry’s delightful children’s book will enchant children and the young at heart with the exciting tale of farm animals gone silly. Each book contains a CD featuring the wonderful audiobook so that parents and children alike will listen again and again as Papa Derryberry and legendary Oklahoma voices tell the tale of The Oklahoma Scranimal and the many adventures on Papa Derryberry’s farm.

In the barn you will hear the voices of Brad Henry, Governor of Oklahoma, as the sheep; Jayne Jayroe, Oklahoma’s Miss America, as the duck; Barry Switzer, legendary Oklahoma football coach, as the pig; Nadia Comaneci, first perfect-10 Olympic gymnast, as the cow; Bob Funk, Oklahoma’s ranching and agricultural leader, as the horse; and General Tommy Franks, Oklahoma’s war hero and four-star general, as the Scranimal.

The Oklahoma Scranimal may be purchased nationwide from any bookstore, or online through several internet web sites including amazon.com and target.com, or you may email orders@tatepublishing.com to order the book.
