Frederick Public Schools congratulated several teachers, staff members and one administrator on a job well done at a reception held in their honor at

the Prather Brown Cafeteria on Wednesday, May 14th. Several members of

the School Board members were present as well as, many co-workers, friends and family members of each of the retirees.

Gwen Jackson has taught Special Education in the Frederick Public Schools for 31 years. She also taught 6th grade Social Studies. "If I have helped someone along my way, then my labor has not been in vain. I'm just ending one season of my life and beginning a new season. I am excited about what God has planned for me." Gwen plans to go into ministry full-time after retirement.

Dianne Gant has taught for 31 years in various positions throughout the

Frederick Elementary and Middle School. Dianne demonstrated her genuine love for children daily. While she taught the curriculum and helped her students to excel in school, she also integrated the concepts she thought necessary to lead a life of integrity.

Lois Coronado has worked in the Frederick School System since 1998 as a Teacher’s Aid, Bilingual tutor in the Elementary, Middle School and High School. Lois’s smile, caring nature and willingness to help where ever she was needed will be missed by teachers, co-workers and students.

Lucy McIntyre started working at the Frederick Elementary Schools in 1997 under the ASCOG program in the Kindergarten, then worked in the math and

reading lab and since then has worked in the Special Education Department.

Lucy’s kindness and gentle nature has been invaluable to the students and

teachers in the Frederick Elementary School.

Jeanie Scott has taught for 21 years, teaching 3 years in the Lawton

Public School System and then completing the rest in the Frederick

Elementary School. Jeanie and her classes have studied the Abernathy Brothers of Tillman County for many years. This integrated lesson plan has

built a community spirit in her students and stakeholders in the area.

Brenda Challacombe has been a teacher and administrator in the Frederick School System for 24 years. She taught in the Manitou school system for 7 years prior to working in Frederick. Brenda’s total teaching and administration experience has been invaluable to the Frederick Public Schools. Her 14 years as the Frederick Elementary principal has helped to shape the lives of innumerable students.
