Another round of severe thunderstorms came through Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas last night, causing some power outages and property damage.

The tornado warning sirens were sounded in Altus when a storm spotter reported a funnel cloud near Martha. The storm was moving to the south toward Altus, but all the city saw was a brief time of heavy rain and high winds. No major damage was reported in Altus from the storm. A funnel cloud was also spotted near Elmer, and a lot of wind damage was reported there.

Winds gusting to 55 mph, golf ball size hail and heavy rain hit the Olustee area knocking out electricity to the town and surrounding area. There was also damage reported to outbuildings. The heavy rain also created flash flooding in the area. Power poles and lines were damaged by the winds.

Although without electricity most of the night, the majority of Olustee had power back this morning, but some outlying homes were still without power earlier today.

State Highway 6 north and south of Eldorado was closed for a time because of water of the roadway from the drenching rain.

Blair also reported some wind damage.

There were reports of storm damage in northern Wilbarger County as the storm tracked south along the Red River.
