Representatives from local offices and agencies were outside Wal-Mart Thursday offering pamphlets and other hand-outs about various safety issues, as well as informing people about their duties. Represented were Jackson County EMS, the American Red Cross, Altus Fire Department, Altus Police and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. If you are interested in information about issues such as fire safety, driving safety or emergency issues, the individual agencies are still offering the materials free to the public. On hand for the event were, from left, Michelle Marion, Safety Leader of Wal-Mart; William Stevens and Emily Martin with Jackson County E.M.S.; Altus Fire Rescue, Lt. Richardson, Benny Barnes and Assistant Chief Larry Wallace; John Venezuela of the local American Red Cross; and Trooper Tylor Shelby of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
