One injured in ATV
accident west of Martha

John Darnell of Olustee was transported to Comanche County Memorial Hospital with head and internal injuries after a one-person ATV accident west of Martha Monday afternoon.

According to reports, Darnell was driving a Yamaha ATV in a field 3.5 miles west of Martha when he went off a creek embankment causing him to fall off the vehicle. He then walked about 120 yards before stopping and calling 911.

Trooper Justin Wheeler of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Troop M in Altus, investigated the accident.

Darnell is listed in stable condition.
