Rice says veterans deserve full benefits

U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Rice promised Altus residents Tuesday that he will always be a strong advocate for veterans.

"I want to be a leader and advocate for more affordable and more accessible health care in Oklahoma, and one area that needs significant attention is veterans care," Rice told the Jackson County Democratic Women at the Friendship Inn. "I think a lot of people — and I myself was in this category about a year ago — assume that if you serve in the military you automatically get health care. But the fact of the matter is that there are about 2.5 million veterans in the United States who do not have health care."
