During comments made at Friday’s Altus Chamber of Commerce dedication and open house, U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe said that General Norton A. Schwartz is expected to be confirmed as the new Air Force Chief of Staff when confirmation hearings begin Tuesday.

Inhofe said Schwarz has assured him that he is committed to centralized training which means that Altus will continue to train crews for aircraft at Altus Air Force Base.

Inhofe took the occasion to thank the Altus community for its outstanding support of Altus Air Force Base and the Air Force, including the Annual Quail Breakfast which is an outstanding opportunity each year for Air Force brass to witness the community support.
