Pre-season wheat meetings are scheduled for Monday in Jackson and Harmon counties, according to the Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension Service.
The Harmon County meeting will be at the Gould Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a free sponsored lunch provided. The Jackson Co. meeting is set for 6-8 p.m Monday at the Jackson County/OSU Extension office with a free sponsored dinner provided.
Topics will include wheat variety trial results, variety discussion, seed treatments, wheat budgets and a fertility and herbicide discussion.
Speakers will include Dr. Mark Gregory, Southwest District area agronomist; Bob LeValley, Southwest District livestock specialist; Terry Pitts, Southwest District IPM/entomology specialist; Lawrence Tomah, Extension Educator, Agriculture for Harmon County; and Gary Strickland, Extension Educator, Agriculture for Jackson County.
Pre-registration is requested by noon Friday.
