Ricky Crouch took the oath of office upon his appointment to the Board of Trustees.
Mrs. Ford reported the outreach clinics had a busy month with a total of 203 admissions and 43 outpatient surgeries that were contributed to JCMH for the month of July. Statistics include the addition of the new Hospitalist program and the acquisition of the Family Medical Clinic on North Main Street.
Bill Wilson reported on physician recruitment activity. Searching for CRNAs to fill two vacant positions. Continuing conversations with an Emergency Medicine physician, an OB/GYN and a Family Practice physician.
The board approved a one-time employee appreciation stipend. Full-time employees will receive $300.00 and part-time and per diem employees will receive $150.
Representatives from The 401k Company and Charles Schwab presented the annual Savings and Investment Plan report for 2007 and the Investment Review of funds for the second quarter of 2008. The Franklin Foreign A fund has ranked below average for the past four quarters, but the committee recommended keeping it in the plan. The total plan assets as of December 31 were $46 million with a 69% employee participation rate.
Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $183,555.74.
The board approved the Annual Program Evaluation for Home Care as presented by Mrs. Ford.
The board approved the annual review of the Sentinel Event Policy with no changes as presented by Mr. King.
Mr. King reported the highlights from the Performance Improvement meeting that was held on August 5.
Dr. Zakhary, Chief of Staff, reported from the JCMH Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting that was held on August 11. The Board approved the following recommendations:

a. Drew C. Castleberry, MD – Radiology, Courtesy Staff
b. Dennis R. Dodd, CRNA – Nurse Anesthesia, Affiliate Staff
c. Joy A. Snell, MD – Pathology, Change from Courtesy to Active Staff
Mrs. Davison presented the financials for the month of July, which resulted in a net income of $124,627.
Mr. Wilson gave the Management Report. He reported that Mr. Trent Pierce has resigned his position of Vice President of Patient Care Services. Mr. Pierce’s last day was Friday, Aug. 22.
JCMH Authority purchased the nursing home property located west of the hospital. The total purchase price was $22,000. Bids will be sent out for asbestos abatement and demolition.
Mr. Wilson announced that the first day of operation of the linear accelerator in the Altus location for the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma is scheduled for Sept. 8.
