The Jackson County Extension Office and Southwest Technology Center will offer a commodity market meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Southwest Technology Center, Room 122.
Discussion leaders will be Dr. Kim Anderson, OSU Extension Grain Marketing Specialist and a new face for this month, Dr. Phil Kenkel, OSU Agriculture Economics Professor.
Topics addressed will be the commodity markets and a Price Trends Analysis of the Fertilizer Business and a look at the best time to purchase fertilizer.
This should be an interested and informing meeting. Not only will you gain an understanding of how the market operates and how to best utilize the market but also a fresh look at fertilizer prices and the impacts on purchase times. Therefore the novice to the expert will find useful information at these meetings.
The meetings will be conducted utilizing live interactive technology, meaning they can see and hear us and vice versa. In this format we will be able to have the one on one discussion that is so valuable in this topic area. A light free lunch will be served.
Lunches for this event have been sponsored by various agriculture financial institutions in Altus. Pre-registration is requested by Tuesday, Sept. 23, 4 p.m., at the Extension Office, 482-0823.
