Rockoberfest will include Crazy Days, kids games, a downtown flea market, a poker run, bike games, a car show and an evening street dance.
The fun will begin with the Frederick Chamber's "Crazy Days" games at 1 p.m., which will include lawnmower races and fire hose polo. Teams may be sponsored by civic groups, businesses, neighborhood groups, professional and other groups. Each team must contain no fewer than three people, but may include many more. The winning teams will receive one-of-a-kind Crazy Day Championship trophies.
Kids Games will also be available from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be no admission fee for children’s activities, which will include games, prizes and snacks.
In addition, a downtown flea market will be held, vendor spaces are only $5, vendors will be allowed to sell items out of their vehicle. Many downtown businesses will be having special sidewalk sales that day as well.
The Frederick Lion's Club will sponsor a poker run and bike games that day. Registration will begin at 10 a.m., with the first bike out at 11 a.m., and last bike in at 4 p.m. Bike games start at 4:30 p.m., and will include a hot dog bite, spud hunt, obstacle course and a slow bike race. Poker run cost is $20 for the first rider, and $5 for the second. Bike games will be $5 per bike. Cash Prizes will be awarded.
Then beginning at 6 p.m., the Veterans of Tillman County will sponsor a car show with five entry classes and trophies to be awarded. Car show entry is $20.
To round out the evening, the Frederick Fire Department will host a street dance featuring “Five Alarm” at 7 p.m.
The first 50 applications for the car show and poker run will receive a free Rockoberfest T-shirt. T-shirts will also be available the day of the event.
