He grew up in Altus and attended Altus Schools, graduating in 1981. He lived in Clovis, N.M. for several years and Longview, Texas, where he worked as a cook and maintenance worker. Bobby enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, biking and being with family and friends, whom he could always make laugh.
He was a member of the Warren Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, Calvin and Joyce Gipson of Altus; a son, Chris Gipson of Fairfax; two daughters, Amber Gipson Saville and husband Greg of Newport News, Va., and Vanessa Gipson of Longview, Texas; one grandson, Caden Saville; one brother, Michael Gipson and wife Jackie of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Pamela Gipson Harris and husband Terry of Republic, Mo.; and host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Warren Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Terry Colwell and the Rev. Kenneth Lyles. Burial will be at Warren Cemetery under the direction of People's Co-operative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf.
