The Country Kitchen Christmas bazaar will feature quilts made by the First United Methodist Church’s Quilting Bee. The event is scheduled for Nov. 19 at the Family Life Center of the church, 300 N. Main in Altus.
A full size quilt titled Starry Prairie Path will be sold by the sale of tickets. It is a charming variation of the traditional star design. The top, which features soft pastels, was pieced and donated by Mrs. Homer Raley of Elmer. She is a prolific quilter and has donated other tops to the church in the past. The FUMC Quilting Bee bound and quilted the quilt.
Sold by sealed bid is a queen-sized quilt titled Blue Sky Over the Wichitas. Evoking the spring sky of Oklahoma, it is composed of delicate colors of stripes, florals, and geometric prints. It was pieced and quilted by the ladies of the Quilting Bee. Bids will be received at the Country Kitchen Christmas Bazaar and opened at the conclusion of the event.
Three baby quilts made by the Quilting Bee will also be for sale at the bazaar and a Christmas wall hanging will also be for sale at the bazaar.
The public is invited to the event.
