Hobart man dies in accident|Ejected from vehicle approximately 63 feet into a pond

A 27-year-old Hobart man died in a one-vehicle accident Sunday one mile west of Hobart on State Highway 9. According to reports, Lance Williamson was westbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the 2005 Toyota he was drivinig and left the roadway striking a fence. The vehicle then rolled two times. Williamson was ejected from the vehicle approximately 63 feet into a pond.

Williamson was pronounced dead at the scene and was then transported by Hackney Funeral Home to the Medical Examiners Office in Oklahoma City.

There were no other vehicles involved and no other passengers in the vehicle.

Seatbelts were not in use.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Michael Jewell of the Kiowa County detachment and was assisted by Lt. Tom Pogue, Trooper Anthony Linares, Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office, Hobart EMS, Hobart Fire Department and the Hobart Police.
