Also, members from several base agencies will speak to area schools. The theme of these speeches will be “What Veteran’s Day Means.”
Lisa Holland, 97th Public Affairs chief of civic outreach, said she was pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming amount of interested speakers. Upon sending out a call for volunteers, she received several immediate responses from eager participants.

Classes will be dismissed for students in Altus Schools in observance of Veteran’s Day.
Roach-Lemer Post #44 of the American Legion and Auxiliary will have a Veterans Day Breakfast tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., in The Towers Meeting Room. All veterans, spouses or widows of veterans, active duty, national guard and reservists and their families are welcome to attend. There is no charge.
The Blair American Legion will also hold a Veteran’s Day breakfast Tuesday at 7 a.m. at the Warren Community Center.
