Several events were scheduled today in honor of Veteran’s Day. The first event was a free breakfast at The Towers for all veterans, spouses or widows of veterans, active duty, national guard and reservists and their families. The free meal was sponsored by the Roach-Lemer Post #44 of the American Legion and Auxiliary. Shown serving Korean War veteran James Jenkins are volunteers Arvella Mote, JoAnne Boyd and Lou Williams. In honor of those who have sacrificed for our nation, Col. Stuart Shaw, 97th Air Mobility Wing vice commander at Altus AFB, was set to place a wreath at the war memorial next to the museum at 11 a.m. Following the commemoration, a luncheon was held at the VFW where Col. Shaw was also scheduled to address the guests.
