The official holiday season will kick off Saturday at the Altus City Park with Christmas music, Santa and the official lighting of the “Christmas in the Park” lights.

Festivities will get under way at 6 p.m. when Kitty Huey and the All That Jazz Band begins playing a variety of Christmas music.

Mark Olson will give the invocation at 6:15 p.m. followed by the National Anthem played by the All That Jazz Band at 6:20 p.m.

Kraig (Elvis) Parker will get the crowd moving with a selection of Elvis Christmas songs at 6:25 p.m. before Mayor T.L. Gramling takes the stage to introduce the Altus AFB Wing Commander.

After comments by both the Mayor and the Wing Commander, the duo will turn the lights on to the entire park at 6:55 p.m.

Kids will want to be on hand because Santa will arrive at 7:30 p.m.

Train rides around the park to view the lights are also provided free of charge.
