Santa Claus is working on his Christmas List, checking it twice. Entries are being accepted for the 28th Annual Christmas Parade.

There is no entry fee to participate as local business and industry underwrite and sponsor the cost of the parade.

The theme for this years parade is "A Story Book Christmas".

The Parade Grand Marshal this year is Representative David Braddock. David is being recognized for 12 years of service to our community and area as District 52 member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. David and his family will ride in antique cars provided by Don Kizzar.

Prizes will be awarded to Float entries in 5 categories.

Grand Marshall, $300; First Place - School and Youth, $200; First Place - Church, $200; First Place - Civic & Commercial, $200; First Place - Altus Air Force Base, $200. A new category of Best Antique Wagon has been established. The best wagon will be presented with a $100 prize. All entries, including the wagons, have to be decorated to be in the parade.

Stop by the office at 301 West Commerce Street or call 482-0210 for your entry forms. Deadline for entries is 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 1.

The route for the parade runs from Western Oklahoma State College south on North Main Street and then will disband at Commerce Street in downtown Altus.

The Altus Chamberorganizes the parade with Debbie Davis as Chairman. Masters of Ceremony for the parade will be Trudy Cavillo and Don Lane with KEYB Radio. The parade is a community project with the City of Altus, WOSC and Altus Air Force Base and other volunteers providing many needed services.
