There are still copies of Doug Dalton's book, "In the Shadow of the Mountain" available. This is based on the before statehood-story of old Navajoe located at the base of the Navajo Mountains here in Jackson County, and its promoter, Buckskin Joe.

All profits from the sale of this book go to the Great Plains Literacy Council.

Books are available at Hastings, Super Sports and by calling Doug Dalton at 482-8291.
