On Meet the Teacher Day, students and their parents are encouraged to go to their schools to learn about their classroom assignments, to meet their new teachers, and to sign up for school organizations and the PTO. Meet the Teacher Day is scheduled on August 16, from 8 a.m. to noon, at every Altus Public School.
Bus rider registration will also be held on August 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Altus High School Cafeteria.
New incoming freshmen will have Link Crew Freshman Orientation on Thursday, August 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the AHS Gymnasium.
All Altus High School students will need to go by the school cafeteria on August 13, to have their yearbook pictures taken. Students will also be able to sign up for clubs and organizations during the event. Class schedules will be mailed to Altus High School students during the week of August 9th. Altus Junior High class schedules have already been mailed to students.
School supplies lists are available now at local merchants or may be found on the school district’s web site, at www.altusschools.k12.ok.us. School breakfast and lunch menus for August are also available on the web site.
All classes will begin at the regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, August 17. Busses will be running and meals will be served as usual.
