This intellectual crime thriller is a fascinating character study of a young woman. She easily masters computer code but finds human interaction almost always more trouble that it is worth and an investigative reporter whose humanity reaches out to many who need more of their stories told. Reviewers have summed up this mystery saying it is Larsson’s crusade against violence and racism.
“This has been a difficult review to write, just as ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ was a difficult book to read,” Stafford commented. “Nevertheless, I think it is an important book and want to make people aware of it.”
This will be Stafford’s second review for the Coffee Cup Bunch. “I was very pleased when Kathy agreed to do another review for us,” said Jennie Buchanan, program director for the Coffee Cup Bunch. “Last year, she brought us an excellent review, and I am eagerly awaiting her presentation on Wednesday.”
The Coffee Cup Bunch meets on the first Wednesdays of the month at the Altus Public Library. The meetings are free and open to the public.
