TI, founded in 1975 in Altus, engineers and fabricates a wide range of mechanical flow metering products used in a variety of commercial applications, including oil and gas, agriculture, chemical and food processing throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas. It also provides recalibration and refurbishing services. For greater quality and cost control, the company does all its own designing and manufacturing at its Altus facility.
A few months ago Turbines, Inc. introduced a new line of metering equipment specifically designed and manufactured for the cryogenic market.
The company recently established Turbines R&D, LLC, a separate, fully staffed operation dedicated to the continual improvement of existing products and the development of new ones.
In 1998, TI became part of the Primary Flow Signal, Inc. (PFS) family of companies. PFS is a leading designer and fabricator of high-accuracy, high-reliability differential producing flow meters and secondary instrumentation for municipal, industrial and oil and gas applications worldwide.
PFS president, Bruce Briggs said: “Because of her extensive product knowledge and keen awareness of the needs of customers in the various industries we serve, Karen Downing has delivered steady growth in both repeat business and market share. We feel very fortunate having someone with her experience and talent leading this operation.”
Turbines, Inc. which earned the ISO 9001 certification on its quality system, maintains a full staff of engineering, machining, fabrication, assembly, testing and administration personnel, with state-of-the-art computer numerically controlled equipment. The company stocks a substantial inventory of finished goods ready for instant shipment to customers, making Turbines, Inc. a preferred supplier of turbine flow meters for customers that do not want to maintain extensive parts inventories.
Primary Flow Signal produces products and supplies services used in more than 40 countries for a variety of applications: municipal water and wastewater, industrial, chemical, power generation, oil and gas, EGR automotive, cryogenic and harsh service. Holder of certifications to ISO 9001; ASME S and U; NB R and PED Module H, the company has more than 1 million installations around the world. PFS flow meters are known for superior accuracy and long-term reliability, backed by a large engineering department to provide customers with individualized design/application assistance.
With worldwide headquarters in Cranston, RI, PFS operates facilities in Canada and China and multiple locations in the U.S. PFS, which is privately held and whose principals actively manage the business, employs 150 and forecasts continued growth in operations and revenues for at least the next five years.
