He was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident happened on E CR 1520 about 1/2 mile east of US 283 north of Blair at about 6:22 a.m. Sunday. Newman was eastbound on CR 1520 and departed the right side of the roadway for about 42 feet. The vehicle came back onto the road for about 100 feet, entering into a broad slide. The vehicle departed the gravel road again to the right and rotated 180 degrees and rolled one complete time, coming to rest on it’s wheels in the north ditch.
Cause of the accident is still under investigation. Newman was not wearing a seat belt. Airbags were equipped but did not deploy.
