A team from The Crucible, a full scale foundry in Norman, came to refurbish the two Holden statues in Altus. They started on “The Vision Seeker’ and ended on “Crossing the Red”. Oxidation is removed from the bronze by applying heat. The warm surface also encourages the bonding of a wax coating to the bronze. Seen left to right here cleaning Crossing the Red, are Scott Adams (above), Adam Johnson (below), Todd Jenkins (above) and Nate Howe (below). Harold Holden’s Vision Seeker and Crossing the Red, are two of eight pieces he fashioned for public displays. They were made at the Crucible which is open to the public. The foundry and art gallery are located at 110 E. Tonhawa in Norman.
