The Jackson County Commissioners had their end of the month meeting today, Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m.

The Commissioners approved minutes from last meeting, Monday, Oct. 22.

They approved reports from the Jackson County Health Department, the Assessor’s Office, and Alcoholic Beverage Tax Report

In Officers’ reports, Commissioner Chair Marty Clinton reported for the minutes that two documents were received, one ODOT v. Randy and Melanie Denton and one USA v. Tammy R. Hayward.

The blanket purchase orders for the Sheriff’s Office were approved.

The repayment of a Temporary Transfer of Funds to the General Reserve Account from Jackson County Treasurer, Renee Howard was approved. Funds were received from the sales tax bond holder and $228,000 is being repaid. This was approved by the Commissioners.

Resolution 2012-41 was approved concerning bridge inspection responsibility by local government for compliance with national bridge inspection standards. The counties are allowed to choose one of three entities to conduct bridge inspections. Option 1 is a Circuit Engineering District (CED), Option 2 is a pre-qualified engineering firm on Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) list of bridge inspectors, and Option 3 is the county conducting their own bridge inspections with a qualified engineer and a bridge inspection team. The Jackson County Commissioners chose Option 1, to have CED 7 conduct bridge inspections, as they have done for the last several years.

The Appropriations for the month of October were approved.

There was no new business. The claims were approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:16 a.m.
