Students enrolled in the Business and Computer Technology program at Southwest Technology Center began collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, through the Jackson County OSU Extension Office, at the beginning of the school year.

The Jackson County OSU Extension Office works with various other local organizations to make the “large” donation in the spring. Collecting pop tabs is a great way to teach students about philanthropy and the importance of recycling, and raise funds to help children and their families at the same time. Some Chapters raise thousands of dollars with their pop tab collections. The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children.
SWTC instructor Genia Glenn, said, “We are proud to help our local OSU Extension Office make the pop tab donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Working with Lynn Null has been a positive experience for myself and the business and computer technology students. We are happy to make a difference in the lives of children and their families across the United States.”
